Naughty dogs on Instagram

People love their dogs, but when it comes to their naughty behavior, no one ever tells you that their dogs do some naughty things from time to time.

And we are not talking about muddy dogs here (everyone already knows that dogs love a rainy day when everywhere is filled with mud and they can just enjoy being covered in it), but the ones that might destroy your entire apartment when you come home from work:)

So, ”Protect my paws”, a research-based website analyzed the Instagram posts with the naughtiest dogs hashtags and ranked the results, which might be surprising or not (they are not surprising for the ones that already have these dog breeds:)

What is a naughty dog?

Protect My Paws tallied posts that included both a specific breed and a behavior tag. #gooddog, #cleverdog, #baddog, #naughtypuppy, #cheekydog, and #muddydog are some common hashtags.

They compared the number of "bad" tags to the number of "good" ones to see how each breed performed.

A muddy dog isn't a nasty dog to some people, depending on how much they value having a neat and clean house, but the number one dog in this article may be a clingy one, which makes it a bit annoying for a few people because they always need attention and never leave you alone (but isn't this why most people have dogs in any case?!
Otherwise, one may just acquire a cat and spend a lot of time alone).

Naughty doesn't mean aggressive

When it comes to aggression in dogs, ”naughty” doesn't mean aggressive, so if your dog disposes aggressive behavior towards anyone is important to take precautions about the situation and go to a veterinary (it might be a medical problem that is not so obvious: the dog is hiding it and he/she is in pain and try to tell you; that's why it might come out through an aggressive behavior),

or to a specialized trainer ( dogs become aggressive when they are confused, anxious, fearful or simply untrained, so they don't know how to behave in some situations that might look threatening to them: for example meeting other dogs or people, this is why also socialization is really important for a puppy).

Does the breed of the dog make a difference in the behavioral matter?

A 2019 research on hundreds of dogs discovered that a dog's genes account for 60-70 percent of certain features.

Trainability, hostility toward strangers, prey drive, and the need for attention are the attributes most impacted by genetics (their breed or breeds). This is why it is critical to research a breed before adopting or purchasing a dog.

While breed cannot forecast everything, it may provide insight into what to expect. Knowing that your dog is likely to be afraid of strangers improves with command training, especially if you live in a sociable community with many children.

You can read more about breed-related behaviors in this article, which will explain a lot of your dog's behaviors from a scientific point of view.

Where do the naughtiest dogs live?

”Protect my paws” also geotagged the Instagram posts to see where most of the naughtiest dogs live on the globe and here it is the answer: 87% of the posts were located in South Africa: two Cape Town bulldogs played dead to avoid the owner's punishment after chewing up the furniture.

Another high concentration of naughty dogs we find in Canberra, Australia: 99,74 % naughty dogs, which means almost all Australian dogs are naughty.

Maybe it's just because Australia has the most hard-working breeds and when they didn't have anything constructive to do, they spent their time making jokes about their owners.

Also, North Carolina and Kansas are on the list of the most naughty dogs in the U.S.

Training for naughty dogs

Every dog is different, having a personality that is influenced by their breed, genes, or past, that's why they need personalized training, the reward-based method being the most effective.

It is best to start early and ask for specialized help in case something doesn't work as expected.

Dogs mostly misbehave to tell us something, so an investigation might be a good way to find out what is happening behind our dog's behavior.

Poochon

Height: 23-38 centimeter

3-8 kg in weight

Friendly, clingy personality

Moderate level of activity

Low Shedding Factor

Life expectancy is 12-15 years.

75.81 percent naughtiness factor

Crate training and socializing are essential for this breed's happiness and wellbeing.

Because it is a cross between a Toy Puddle and a Bichon Frise, it is prone to separation anxiety; both breeds dislike being left alone. They are extremely loving and get along with everyone they encounter, whether they be pets or people.

They despise being left alone, which is why teaching them from an early age is critical. Because they have Puddle intellect, training them should be simple. In any case, they are typically adaptable to a wide range of families and locations.

Having a naughty dog

It doesn't matter if our dog is one of the naughty dogs on the list because we love them with all our hearts and we want to protect and take care of them. Having a naughty dog that does funny tricks sometimes is a bonus for brightening up our days. One thing is for sure when it comes to dogs: naughty or really calm dogs: they all bring love to our world.
